Diabetes Skin Care Solutions

Diabetes has quadrupled in the last 30 years. With diabetes on the rise it is inevitable that the clientele that suffer from this condition will continue to increase as well. Since skin problems are common in people with diabetes, gaining an understanding on how to safely treat clients is imperative. This class will examine three types of diabetes: type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, as well as pre-diabetes. Changes in the skin as a result of each type of diabetes and the fluctuating blood glucose levels will be discussed. Skin physiology, spa and medi-spa contraindications, different treatment options and skin care solutions that can be offered to clients will be covered.
